The Embassy of Israel celebrated its 58th Independence Day with a musical performance and reception at the Hilton Addis Ababa. Israeli “Medical Clowns” visit orphanages in Addis Ababa

 

Aimed at brining a successful expertise of Israeli doctors in treating children infected with HIV/AIDS, a medical group headed by Professor Danny Engelhard, Head of the Department of Pediatric Infectious Diseases and AIDS at Hadassah University Hospital, visited last week two orphanage centers in Addis Ababa. The group included two Israeli volunteers and two “medical clowns” from the children’s ward at Hadassah Hospital in Jerusalem

Israeli Experts conduct Women’s Empowerment training at Debub University in Awassa

  

Two Israeli experts on Friday last week completed a two-week course titled “Women’s Leadership and Empowerment” at Debub University in Awassa.

 

Over 30 women lecturers participated in the workshop, which was conducted by Mrs.  Rina Bar –Tal, Chairwoman of the Israeli Women’s Network, Israel’s prominent women’s lobby group, and Mrs. Adi Berson Bar-Tal, a Psychologist.

5,000 Israeli Mango Scions Grafted in Ethiopia to Improve Local Mango Production

 

An expert from the Israeli Ministry of Agriculture brought to Ethiopia last week 5,000 scions of Mango, and conducted a special grafting project in nurseries located in Arba Minch and Butajira towns.

UN General Assembly unanimously designates January 27 as Holocaust Remembrance Day

1 Nov 2005
Israeli Ambassador Dan Gillerman said the Holocaust "brought us face to face with the full extent of man's capacity for inhumanity to his fellow man," and that it served as a "critical impetus" for the development of human rights, the drafting of landmark international conventions on genocide, and the founding of the UN itself.
